Hygienic and sanitary pumps are designed to prevent microbial contamination and ensure to clean transfer of fluids through a pumping system. These pumps are made from 316 stainless steel and have a smooth, passivated surface for easier sanitation and to prevent exterior product buildup. All rubber and elastomer components within the pump are made from Buna-N, Viton™, or similar materials to meet FDA requirements.
Another type of sanitary pump, called a CIP or “clean in place” pump, is easy to disassemble and clean without having to shut down your entire line. These FDA-compliance pumps significantly reduce downtime and are ideal for sanitary applications requiring frequent clean in place activity.
